Meet the Explorer. Jo Strand
After extensive travels throughout the world, Jo arrived in Africa for the first time and quickly realised she wanted to make the continent her home. After exploring Southern Africa as a hitchhiker, Jo returned to Tanzania a few years later, where the sweeping Serengeti plains left a lasting impression on her. In 1996 she returned to teach at an international school, and met Gary, Hannah and Jamie a few years later. She married Gary in 2000 and Hunter was born a year later.
Jo continued to teach before expanding into different areas of the Explorer business. Today, her love of design and discerning eye for detail, along with her passion as a modiste, allow her to infuse an exclusive ethos into every Explorer journey and property.
